Adams Visits the Museum: Amy Adams is in talks to star opposite Ben Stiller in the sequel to his 2006 inexplica-hit Night at the Museum. The idea is that Adams’s charm and likability will exactly cancel out Stiller’s unpleasant shticky laziness, resulting in a blank, white screen. [Variety]

Glover In on Tollins’s Secrets: Smallville vet and Tony-award winner John Glover will star at L.A.’s Black Dahlia Theatre as a destructive mentor in the Broadway-set Secrets of the Trade, Jonathan Tollins’s follow-up to his Off Broadway hit The Last Sunday in June (which did so well it may have outgrossed his most recent film, the John Cusack flop Martian Child). [Playbill]

Englund, Lee Vij Out: Horror icons Robert Englund and Christopher Lee unite as Englund directs Lee in The Vij, a dark gothic fantasy based on a Nikolai Gogol short story about an evil genie who corrupts a young priest. While the title may be a touch giggle-inducing, bear in mind that Englund’s previous efforts as a horror helmer were called 976-EVIL and Killer Pad (about … yes … a really great apartment that kills). Messing Puts It in Park: Debra Messing joins the cast of Overture Films’ ensemble drama Humboldt Park as the wife of John Leguizamo. That’s just about the weirdest couple we’ve heard of since … well, Messing and Woody Allen in Hollywood Ending. [HR]

Woody Hits a Triple: Speaking of Woody Allen, he’s just signed a three-picture deal with Spain-based producer-distributor Mediapro. And when all three features have opened and flopped — presumably by January 2009 — he will seek new financing. And he’ll get it. [HR]
