Worthington Begins: As Steven Spielberg has pet project Shia LaBeouf, now James Cameron has Sam Worthington, who recently wrapped the lead in Cameron’s Avatar and will now star alongside Christian Bale in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins on a personal recommendation from Cameron to director McG. We’re gonna start putting Cameron down as a reference on all our job applications, and just see what happens. [Variety]

Police to Make Final North American Sweep: The Police will add 30 or so additional North American performances to their world tour in May and July before dissolving the band for good so that Sting can get back to doing a bunch of stupid crap. [Billboard]

Dakota Fanning Not a Careful Reader: Abigail Breslin and Sofia Vassilieva replace, respectively, Elle and Dakota Fanning on New Line’s drama My Sister’s Keeper, after the elder Fanning refused to shave her head for the role. We can see why she was surprised, after all, the film, based on the Jodi Picoult novel, is about a younger girl conceived as a donor match for her leukemia-stricken older sister. Why would you have to shave your head for that? Anyway, this should create a little more tension the next time Breslin stops by The Dakota Fanning Show. [Variety]

Kutcher to Spread for Leigh: Jennifer Jason Leigh will co-star in the indie sex comedy Spread as a spurned lover of a serial womanizer played by Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher sharing intense acting scenes with Jennifer Jason Frickin’ Leigh? He’d better wear Kevlar or something. [Variety]

Hayes & Hayes Get Soul: Sharing the last name “Hayes” doesn’t necessarily mean you share anything else. Isaac Hayes (divine sensuality given human voice) and Sean Hayes (Will & Grace) set out to prove it by joining the cast of Dimension’s sure-to-be-awful comedy Soul Men, in which Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac co-star as estranged former bandmates bickering on a road trip. John Legend and Jennifer Coolidge also join. [HR]

Piranhas in Your Popcorn: Not to be outdone by the Final Destination franchise, horror helmer Alexandre Aja plans to shoot his next film, a remake of the 1978 fish-food classic Piranha, in flesh-munching 3-D, turning your local cinema into an aquarium … OF DEATH! [Shock ‘Till You Drop]
