In the new trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s The Girlfriend Experience, we’re introduced to Christine, a high-end prostitute (played by real-life porn star Sasha Grey) who makes $1,875 more per hour than her personal-trainer boyfriend by giving wealthy clients conversation and companionship, instead of just sex the whole time. She lives in a big Manhattan apartment, gets chauffeured everyplace, and presumably pays very little in taxes. If you’re under the impression that this sounds like a pretty decent living, though, be aware: Not only does one of her clients wear a diaper, but her apartment appears to be located near a popular hangout for street drummers.
