Weird Al Finally Weighs In on Craigslist, the Doors

Music's preeminent song parodist, "Weird Al" Yankovic, returns this morning with a new single and video, and, we'll be honest, we're a little disappointed. "Craigslist" is an "homage to the Doors" and doesn't mock any one song specifically — which is fine! (Some of his best singles — "Dare to Be Stupid," for example, an homage to Devo — meet similar descriptions.) The problem is the lyrics, about all the crap you can find on Craigslist, which are basically just a rehash of the ones to his 2003 song "eBay," which was about all the crap you can find on eBay (set to the tune of "I Want It That Way"). Additionally, Weird Al has already paid tribute to the Doors, with the inclusion of "L.A. Woman" in one of his famous polka medleys, 1984's "Polkas on 45." Still, he did get Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek to play on the track, and the video is pretty terrific (and far and away the most exciting thing on the Internet this morning), so have at it.
