At Last, Weird Al Addresses Charles Nelson Reilly and the White Stripes in the Same Song

Now this is (slightly) more like it. Following two disappointing ones, Weird Al’s latest single, “CNR,” is a White Stripes homage that inexplicably pays tribute to Match Game panelist Charles Nelson Reilly, mythologizing him as Chuck Norris type who can poop diamonds and drop-kick a moose. Again, it’s not a parody of any specific song (though it sounds the most like “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground”), and Al has already paid tribute to the White Stripes, including “Fell in Love With a Girl” in a 2003 polka medley. Still, this is way better than “Skipper Dan” and we guess it’ll do until he releases his “Birthday Sex.”
