Move Back Into Melrose Place. Or Don’t.


Melrose Place returned to television last night, and the CW was eager to promote a show that no one’s thought about in a decade. Free cupcakes seem like the right way to tout such fluff, so the network and the Cupcake Stop truck distributed 1,100 (for the CW 11, get it?) “S’more Drama” snacks in the Flatiron yesterday. We sent Ben Widdicombe and a camera crew to gauge interest in the new Melrose, as well as to determine — via line readings — how well the old version holds up.
