Vulture buddy Nikki Finke just broke the news that Adam Shankman (director of A Walk To Remember and Hairspray) and Bill Mechanic (former CEO and chairman of Fox Studios, producer of Coraline) have agreed to produce the 2010 Oscar ceremony. She also reports that the two were offered the gig after the producers of the 2009 show, Larry Mark and Bill Condon, turned the job down. Let’s just hope that Shankman and Mechanic have a solid relationship with Hugh Jackman! [DHD]
