Jeez, this guy will do anything to get out of delivering Rebirth in a timely fashion. Lil Wayne cut a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty this morning to second-degree attempted weapon possession and will be sentenced to a year in prison, says the Manhattan district attorney's office. The charges stem from the 2007 discovery of a gun on Wayne's tour bus after a concert in New York. He'd previously pleaded not guilty to a possession charge, which carried a possible jail term of three and a half years, but the use of a controversial DNA test to tie him to the weapon apparently resulted in a switched plea. How this will affect the release dates of those three albums he's supposed to put out before year's end is not immediately clear.
