While we remain confident that the duo of Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin will do a perfectly respectable (if not quite Jackmanesque) job of hosting the Oscars, Entertainment Weekly got Adam Shankman to admit that they had somewhat advanced discussions with Tina Fey about co-hosting the gig. “There were lots of discussions in there,” he says. “It wasn’t that she turned us down but her work schedule right in that time, she’s writing the last of her shows, and we realized then that it wouldn’t work.” Drats!
