The New Jersey town in which MTV’s Jersey Shore takes place is seeking to distance itself from the popular TV show seemingly beloved by everyone who’s not Italian or from New Jersey. Seaside Heights “wants it to be known that they did not solicit, promote or participate in the filming of this show,” said Borough Administrator John A. Camera in a statement this morning (they did approve the production company’s shooting permits, but they’ll pretty much give those to anybody, they insist). Also, claims Camera, “the people on the show are certainly not indicative of the majority of those who visit, and enjoy the Jersey Shore,” which totally throws a monkey wrench in our summer plans.
