The Verdict: Sweet Jesus, would someone please teach poor Danger Mouse to keep salable unreleased material out of his shared folder? His new album with Shins leader James Mercer (not due in stores for another three months) arrived on file-sharing sites yesterday, for God’s sake. A third of it could pass for Gorillaz B-sides, half sounds like something Zach Braff would jog to, and one track (“Your Head Is On Fire”) gives the impression that they tried to copy Animal Collective, but forgot to take peyote first. Did that sound like a negative review? If so, we apologize, because we can sort of rock out to this.
