Despite high hopes, Judd Apatow’s grown-up movie Funny People was not well received, to the point that the director had to foot the bill for Adam Sandler’s Oscar campaign himself. But you can take consolation in this, Judd: Quentin Tarantino liked it! It’s one of his eight favorite movies of the year, along with Star Trek, Observe and Report, and Drag Me to Hell.
