Robert Halderman Channels Tiger Woods in His Latest Defense

David Letterman extorter Robert Halderman is switching up his defense and taking what could be called the Jaimee Grubbs approch. In a new court filing, Halderman's lawyer said the former 48 Hours producer was simply doing what many of Tiger Woods' mistresses had done — asking for money to disappear. Halderman "offered to sell his very marketable story to David Letterman," the filing said. "If Letterman refused, Halderman would move on and sell his story to someone else, for fair market value. There was no threat beyond that. As a result, no crime was committed." If nothing else, the lawyer deserves points for creativity. [NYP]
