Up in the Air Has Wings

Yes, The Blind Side is still inexplicably sitting atop the box office, but Jason Reitman's much-hyped Up in the Air had an even more impressive weekend. Showing at only fifteen theaters, it brought in an impressive $1.2 million, the third biggest opening in limited release this year (behind the Princess and the Frog, which sold some tickets for $50, and Precious). The movie will roll out to a wide release at Christmas, by which time you'll be so tired of hearing about it you'll want to see Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel instead.
