Weinsteins Push Back Piranha 3-D

Bad news for fans of three-dimensional fish-on-human violence: The Weinstein Company is moving back the release of Dimension’s Piranha 3-D. It was to hit theaters on April 16, but now won’t until “sometime in August at the earliest.” This is either because the Weinsteins are broke, because they think Lionsgate’s Kick-Ass (also scheduled for April 16) might steal the attention of the same target audience, or because a later release will mean the film stays fresh in Oscar voters’ minds.
