Kevin Smith Responds!

After we openly wondered whether Warner Bros. was intentionally burying the fact that Kevin Smith directed Cop Out so as not to turn off potential ticket buyers, a few of Smith’s 1.6 million Twitter followers pointed him in the direction of our piece. Apparently, Smith is averse to his name appearing in advertisements. “Feels too braggy,” he tweeted. And in a separate missive entirely, he wrote, “No conspiracy, NY mag: just personal policy. Certainly not gonna change it for a movie I didn’t even write.” Well then, there you have it! (Except, of course, in the case of Jersey Girl! But who’s checking?) [ThatKevinSmith/Twitter]
