Up in the Air Wins Scripter Award

By

Last night's 22nd Annual USC Libraries Scripter Award went to Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner, the writers of Up in the Air, and Walter Kirn, the novelist who wrote the novel it was based on. The award honors the author and screenwriters of the best book-to-film adaptation of the year. Up in the Air beat out Crazy Heart, District 9, An Education and Precious. Kirn was very gracious to the screenwriters who turned his lead character from a neurotic nerve-factory into George Clooney. "Thank you guys. You did a miracle," he said. [HR]
