Vulture Introduces ‘Performances of the Week,’ Our Video Look at Truly Great TV

Sure, every day, TV offers us good performances. "Pants on the Ground"? That was good. Everyone in Mad Men getting splattered with lawn-mower blood? That was good. Martha Stewart pretending to be interested in the design concerns of paupers? Always good.

But scientists have determined that in any given week, only five performances qualify as great. So thank goodness for Vulture's new weekly video, "Performances of the Week"! We've told our staff of 600 highly paid TV watchers — their eyelids taped open, their agonized faces bathed in the glow of a giant grid of flickering HD screens — to pick out the five great performances of the last week in TV, from drama to comedy to late night to the furthest reaches of your cable dial.
