Chuck Close was wheeling himself around the dance floor with various women last night at MoMA for the Armory Show's opening night party, but took a minute to tell us how weak this year's show really is. "Honestly, I thought it was a lot less interesting than usual," Close said of the art fair, housed at Piers 92 and 94 this month. "I don't know why exactly, and I don't know what I would add to it, but it didn't seem to have much, especially compared to Frieze or even Miami Basel. It was very dull and ordinary." Close hasn't had a chance to check out the Whitney Biennial, since he's "doing work for Obama" currently in D.C.
