Jon Heder Departs Will Ferrell’s Comedy Central Series

Napoleon Dynamite’s Jon Heder has dropped out of the Will Ferrell–produced Comedy Central sitcom that he had been set to star in. Heder was going to play a young man who moves back in with his parents in the untitled series, which features Saturday Night Live’s Chris Parnell and Horatio Sanz.

“Comedy Central, Gary Sanchez Productions and Jon Heder have mutually decided to part ways over creative differences with the character,” Heder’s team said in a statement. “Jon wishes the show nothing but success, and is very grateful for the opportunity.”

Presumably, Ferrell wanted the character to run around shirtless everywhere, whereas Heder just wanted to wear ironic T-shirts and mutter one-liners about nunchakus and fantasy animals.
