‘Scoundrel-Czar’ Responds to White

Over at his blog, The Village Voice’s J. Hoberman has taken time out of his busy schedule “pulling the strings of his myriad media puppets … like some nefarious, shadowy dictator in a Fritz Lang silent” to respond to Armond White’s Greenberg review, in which the New York Press critic blasted the “scoundrel-czar of contemporary film criticism” for last week digging up the 1998 review in which White allegedly called for Noah Baumbach’s “retroactive abortion.” Says Hoberman: “Imagine if I had written something about him rather than making available something he wrote.” [Overlooked and Hoberated/VV]
