‘Scoundrel-Czar’ Responds to White

Over at his blog, The Village Voice's J. Hoberman has taken time out of his busy schedule "pulling the strings of his myriad media puppets ... like some nefarious, shadowy dictator in a Fritz Lang silent" to respond to Armond White's Greenberg review, in which the New York Press critic blasted the "scoundrel-czar of contemporary film criticism" for last week digging up the 1998 review in which White allegedly called for Noah Baumbach's "retroactive abortion." Says Hoberman: "Imagine if I had written something about him rather than making available something he wrote." [Overlooked and Hoberated/VV]
