If you were a parent and public-school teacher and you'd just been diagnosed with terminal cancer, presumably you'd recruit a former student and open a meth lab, like Bryan Cranston quite reasonably did on Breaking Bad. So what are we to make of Showtime's The Big C, on which Laura Linney responds to her prognosis with a pledge to eat more onions and better involve herself in the lives of her husband (Oliver Platt), son, students, and neighbors? Seems unrealistic to us. Here's the just-released trailer for the show, which also features Gabourey Sidibe, in her first post-Precious role. Enjoy!
