About 55 seconds into the new trailer for The Expendables, Sylvester Stallone's action extravaganza full of gristly stars from the eighties, Arnold Schwarzenegger makes an appearance. After delivering a meta one-liner about Stallone's character liking the jungle (get it? he played Rambo), Schwarzenegger is gone. Big deal, right? It's not like this is the first time the Governator has been in a movie since taking office. Ah, but it is the first time he's been in a movie playing anyone other than himself.
Okay, so what does all of this mean? Well, the L.A. Times seems to think it signals a return to the big screen for Schwarzenegger, who is prevented from seeking higher executive office by the pesky Constitution. We think that sounds about right. His other political options are the Senate and he already said he won't do that. And remember, he said he'll be back.
