Uh-Oh: B.o.B. Raps Over Vampire Weekend

Have you somehow managed to avoid B.o.B.’s sappy hit single “Nothin' On You”? Congratulations! Also, you can go ahead and give in now — the kid’s got a lot more where that came from. To wit: Yesterday we pointed your attention to “Airplanes Pt. 2,” blessed by the radio gods by both a maudlin earworm hook from Paramore’s Hayley Williams and a verse from Eminem; now comes “The Kids,” another leak from B.o.B.’s debut, The Adventures of Bobby Ray, out next week, and it sounds like Mr. Ray’s outdone himself. With the help of fellow potential breakout star Janelle Monae, B.o.B. goes in over Vampire Weekend’s “The Kids Don’t Stand a Chance,” singing the chorus himself and everything, and crafting another high-water mark in his chosen field of scrubbed-clean non-rap. The dudes in Vampire Weekend had to sign off on this, right? Why did they?
