Betty White SNL Is Highest Rated in Eighteen Months

We’re not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing, but last night’s Betty White
–hosted episode
of Saturday Night Live was a ratings bonanza. The show managed to hold an 8.8 household rating, its highest since the 2008 episode that preceded the presidential election. So, is this a good thing because Lorne Michaels will start casting other lovable, Golden Girls alums (come one Rue McClanahan!)? Or is it a bad thing because he’ll make the mistake of listening to Facebook again (there are currently groups urging SNL to hand over hosting duties to Rachel Maddow, Steve Nash, and Mike Rowe, among many others)?
