Spider-Man Musical Gets a New Green Goblin, Might Open in November

Despite all odds, U2 and Julie Taymor's $50 million Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark continues to be a thing that could theoretically happen someday, maybe. The Post's Michael Riedel reports today that the show will enter previews in October with an eye on a November opening. And following Alan Cumming's departure last month, Taymor has recast the role of Green Goblin: Patrick Page will play Dark's villain, which is a good fit as he has green-playing experience (he was the title character in Broadway's How the Grinch Stole Christmas). Evan Rachel Wood hasn't yet been replaced as Mary Jane (Taymor auditioned actresses this week), but Reeve Carney is still signed up to play Spider-Man. (Sorry, Josh Bednarsky.) Get your tickets now!
