Neither a stint in an Indian ashram nor a months-long Hawaiian vacation seem to have mellowed Kanye out. In "Power," a just-leaked new track, possibly from the forthcoming Good Ass Job, he says: "Fuck SNL and the whole cast/Tell 'em Yeezy said they can kiss my whole ass." But why? Is he just upset, like everyone, about Saturday Night Live's general badness? Perhaps he's reasonably annoyed with those lame "What's Up With That?" sketches? Or could it be something they said about him?
Presumably, it was one of SNL's three major digs at him following his merciful interruption of Taylor Swift's long-winded acceptance speech at last year's VMAs:
Here's Seth Myers and Amy Poehler blasting Kanye on September 17 during "Weekend Update": "Really Kanye West, you interrupted someone again? It was interesting when you were speaking out on President Bush and Hurricane Katrina. Less so when standing up for Beyoncé in the 'Singles [sic] Ladies' video.":
Here is Taylor Swift's monologue from November 7, in which she addressed Kanye's VMAs outburst in song form: "You might be expecting me to say something about Kanye and how he ran up on the stage at the VMAs/ But there's nothing more to say, 'cause everything's okay/I've got security lining the stage."
Also, here's Taylor Lautner's December 12 monologue, during which he beheaded Kanye in effigy:
As usual, we're on Team Kanye here. These were all kinda unfunny and can obviously only fairly be punished by having Bobby Moynihan, Nasim Pedrad, and Jason Sudeikis simultaneously kiss Kanye's ass. Actually, SNL's sound guy should probably be involved, too.
