While all the rest of the late-night crowd took the night off, The Daily Show and The Colbert Report returned from a two-week hiatus in top form. Naturally, the tragic BP oil spill was at the top of the list for ridicule, and the boys from Comedy Central did not disappoint. After spending a good amount of time raking President Obama over the coals for his uninspired handling of the situation, Jon Stewart brought in Wyatt Cenac to analyze a containment plan that should make every BP shareholder very, very happy. Up next, Stephen Colbert looks at the mess from a reality-television angle as he considers the spill's destructive effect on James Carville while later exposing Dawn liquid detergent as the true villain behind the catastrophe.
