Sidney Samson’s New ‘Riverside’ Video, with Twista

Dutch D.J. Sidney Samson’s debut single, the foot-stomping, furiously paced “Riverside,” now features lyrics from Twista and an appearance from up-and-coming M.I.A. labelmate Rye Rye (pictured). And, in case you don’t spend too much time in U.K. clubs, the original version — an instrumental track with a clip of Tupac in Juice saying, “Riverside, mothafucka” as the hook — has gotten more than 10 million hits on YouTube and has been popular on U.K. dance floors for more than a year. This version swaps in Twista, the world’s fastest rapper (Guinness Book, 1992), to match Samson’s twitchy, relentless beat and serves as a useful guide to back-alley dance battles with gold-drenched, neon-wearing hipster queens. Take note: It involves a lot of sunglasses.
