New Jersey Governor Tries to Pass Off Blame for Jersey Shore Kids to New York

The man who inexplicably doesn’t want to be associated with “the Situation.”

With the return of Jersey Shore days away, the popular sport of Shore-bashing was back in a big way this weekend. First there was Cathy Horyn’s oddly mean-spirited Snooki takedown in the Times. And then Sunday, New Jersey governor Chris Christie joined the chorus of haters when asked by This Week’s Jake Tapper if the reality show’s popularity was positive or negative for his state.

“It takes a bunch of New Yorkers … drops them at the Jersey shore, and tries to make America feel like this is New Jersey,” he said. “The Jersey shore is a beautiful place, and it’s a place that everybody should come on vacation.”

Thankfully, none of this trash-taking is likely to diminish Snooki’s orange-hued shine. As she recently told Rolling Stone: “I get off on [on the haters]. Because the only reason why people talk negative is because they’re jealous.” That’s our girl.
