Paz de la Huerta at Get Low

Contrary to popular belief, Get Low is not a Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz biopic but an old-timey drama about a hermit (played by Robert Duvall) who organizes a “living funeral” for himself and the funeral-parlor owner (Bill Murray) who gets it done. Appropriately, talk at the movie’s Cinema Society screening last week turned to what the attendees would like to see at their own funerals. John Cameron Mitchell had the best answer: “I want David Bowie to be singing with Lou Reed and Iggy Pop, a trio of ‘Satellite of Love,’ and I would like, say, MDMA handed around. Don’t you think?” Then he told us about his white-noise machine: “Wherever I go I have to have blinding white-noise sound wherever I sleep. I have to travel with it. Sometimes it’s so loud that people are screaming, ‘Turn down your fucking white-noise machine.’ And then I can’t sleep.” For more awesome celebrity quotes, click through our Party Lines slideshow.
