Despite Disqualification, Wyclef Is Not Giving Up

After confirming he was bowing out of the race to become Haiti’s next president after an official ruling left him off the list of eligible candidates, Wyclef Jean has now changed his tune. Jean said Sunday his lawyers will challenge the ruling, tweeting, “We have met all the requirements set by the laws. And the law must be Respected.” Jean is contending that because he is a goodwill ambassador for Haiti, he should not be held to the requirement that presidential candidates live in the country for five consecutive years before the election.
