New York Public Library Honors Steve Martin for His Ideas

By

The library was clearly hoping to drum up a little buzz for its Library Lions black-tie gala with the selection of Martin (who, it's true, has written a whole bunch of books and plays) as one of its five Lions. The recipients, who will be fêted on November 1, were chosen based on their “contributions to the world of ideas.” In addition to Martin, the other four honorees are actor-author Ethan Hawke, authors Malcolm Gladwell and Zadie Smith, and New York Public Library president Paul LeClerc.
