When Knight & Day faltered at the box office earlier this summer, reports claimed Paramount would be, as we termed it, “LaBeoufing” Tom Cruise’s Mission Impossible IV. And now comes word that testing for the beefed-up part of the younger, new agent has begun, though unfortunately Shia himself is not among the three candidates that have been identified. Director Brad Bird and the studio will reportedly be testing Kevin Zegers (Transamerica, Gossip Girl), Anthony Mackie (The Hurt Locker) and Christopher Egan (Letters for Juliet) (and potentially others, as well) for the role.
