Philip Seymour Hoffman to Do Salesman on Broadway

This won’t make up for that scotched Scientology movie, but it’s a start: Philip Seymour Hoffman and Mike Nichols are planning a version of Death of a Salesman to hit Broadway next year, reports Michael Riedel. Riedel is bearish on the prospects for such a production, but this would actually be a redo for Hoffman, who once played Willy Loman in a high-school production of the show, and mounted a fictional version of Salesman in Synecdoche, New York, so he knows what he’s getting himself into (which should give him a leg up on poor Christopher Lloyd). Looking forward!
