Star Wars Will Be Re-Released in 3-D

It was only a matter of time before Star Wars got a 3-D make-over. George Lucas will be releasing the entire franchise in new 3-D conversions, starting in 2012, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The first part in the series, The Phantom Menace, will hit theaters in the early months of 2012, and then the remaining five films will be released in order each consecutive year (each conversion takes about a year to complete). Lucas will personally oversee the entire process to “make sure each one is as perfect as possible.” [HR]
