The Hunger Games Closer to Finding a Director

Gary Ross, the director of Pleasantville and Seabiscuit, is looking like he's the guy who's going to get to direct the first film in the Hunger Games trilogy, based on the popular, gripping YA series of the same name. Sam Mendes, David Slade, Andrew Adamson, Rupert Sanders, and Susanna White were all reportedly in the running for the gig, but Ross has emerged as the top choice to direct the series that Lionsgate is hoping will one day be as big as Twilight. So, you know, no pressure. [Deadline]
