Jonathan Demme Wants to Direct Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

Now that David O. Russell has given up on directing Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, a number of directors are gunning for the job. Most intriguing among them (because who isn't interested in what the director of Hannibal Lecter might do with zombies?) is the Oscar winner Jonathan Demme, who is presumably also interested in a mainstream hit. Others jockeying for the part are Let Me In and Cloverfield's Matt Reeves, Chuck & Buck's Mike White, and Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs. We hope they settle this in the appropriate way: by all dressing up as zombies and facing off in a zombie boxing match. [Wrap]
