Mission: Impossible 4 Gets Its New Title

For months, industry scuttlebutt has had it that Mission: Impossible 4 would be getting a new title, presumably to minimize its potential Tom Cruise problem (it's why we took the initiative and bought all domains related to the potential title Mission: Sawyer's in This One!). Today, though, Cruise revealed the entire title at a press conference in Dubai, and it's a doozy that will make you think you're playing a Tom Clancy game on your Xbox: "One of the things I always wanted for the franchise was for it not to have a number afterwards," said Cruise. "I’ve never done sequels to films and I never thought of these films as sequels. Paramount has done a great job in coming up with a title, so it’s not going to be MI2, 3, 4: It’s going to be Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol." The heat has been taken off Christopher Nolan and Michael Bay! (Also, that colon placement is going to get very weird.) [Gulf News]
