The Weinstein Company Parties Like It’s 1995

The struggling studio announced Donna Gigliotti, who produced Shakespeare in Love and worked with the Weinstein brothers as a Miramax executive in the mid-nineties, as their new president of production. (The position has been vacant for a year.) She was already working on two films for the company, and explained her decision as a vote for Harvey Weinstein as indie savior. “Who else besides Harvey is out there making these kinds of films? The answer is almost nobody,” she said. “The industry needs him to succeed, and I feel responsible to be a part of that.” [Media Decoder/NYT]
