Buffy the Vampire Slayer Will Be a Movie, Again

Before Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a great television show, it was a less great 1992 movie also written by Joss Whedon, but starring Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry, and Donald Sutherland (plus Paul “Pee-wee Herman” Reubens and a great rendition of “How Funky Is Your Chicken”). Warner Bros. will now attempt to reboot Buffy as a movie franchise, sans Whedon, and has hired 29-year-old Whit Anderson (who looks like Lindsay Lohan as a cylon?) to write the script. (The possibility of this reboot was first raised a year and a half ago.) Anderson says, “While this is not your high-school Buffy, she’ll be just as witty, tough and sexy as we all remember her to be.” It almost goes without saying, but: She. had. better. be.
