Grey’s Anatomy to Do a Musical Episode?

Glee will not have sole dominion of the iTunes charts if Shonda Rhimes has anything to say about! Michael Ausiello wrote on his Facebook wall last night, “Make way for the Seattle Grace Sopranos: Hearing Grey’s Anatomy is doing a musical episode during the second half of the season.” Grey’s does have some accomplished singers in its cast — Chandra Wilson, who plays Dr. Bailey, was in the original production of Caroline, or Change (she also sang once in a previous episode), Sara Ramirez (Callie) won a Tony for Spamalot, and maybe they can get Private Practice’s Audra McDonald to come back for a crossover episode — but if it’s going to do an episode in which everyone bursts into song while in surgery, maybe they should have done it back when Izzie was seeing ghosts and nothing about the show was realistic anyway. On the other hand, va-jay-jay has always needed a song of its very own. [Michael Ausiello/Facebook]
