Monster’s Ball Screenwriter Survives Subway Hit

If you thought the never-ending calamities that rained down on the characters of Monster's Ball were bad, they're nothing compared to what happened this weekend to the film's co-screenwriter, Will Rokos. The 57-year-old was struck in the head by a 2 train on Saturday afternoon when he peered down the tunnel of the 14th Street station at Seventh Avenue; though the train driver saw Rokos and tried to stop, he couldn't hit the brakes in time. According to the New York Post, Rokos is now in critical but stable condition at Bellevue Hospital. [NYP]
