But what does Kristy Swanson, the actress still best known for playing Buffy in the 1992 Buffy the Vampire Slayer film, think of the controversial Buffy reboot? “Let Buffy live,” she said. “Why not?” Also, she needs some work: “If they wanted me to be a part of it, I think that would be fantastic and that it would be a blast. There are die-hard Joss Whedon fans who absolutely love him to death, and rightly so. He’s a brilliant man, no doubt. But I love everything Buffy. I don’t care who’s doing it.” Her co-star, Luke Perry, had no comment. And Sarah Michelle Gellar, who, let’s face it, is the real Buffy in everyone’s minds and always will be, couldn’t even be reached, since she now lives happily and quietly on Buffy royalties with Freddie Prinze Jr., somewhere far away from all of this.
