Paramedics Intervene at the 127 Hours Premiere

127 Hours hasn’t even opened yet, but already the film’s few screenings have been marked by audience faintings and other medical incidents (hopefully Vulture’s guide to the film will be able to limit future squeamishness). Now you can add another one to the list: At last night’s premiere of 127 Hours in Los Angeles, paramedics had to help out a young woman who suffered a diabetic seizure about 45 minutes into the film, though director Danny Boyle later took great pains to point out that “she said it had nothing to do with the movie.” Indeed, the incident happened well before the film’s notorious arm-cutting, but who knows: Maybe she just isn’t used to seeing big-screen contact-lens removal?
