Party Lines Slideshow: Aasif Mandvi, David Duchovny, Christina Ricci, and More at the Artios Awards

Earlier this week at the American Airlines Theater, the Casting Society of America honored Tony Kushner at the 26th annual Artios Awards, and it seemed as good a time as any to ask people about funny casting stories. Aasif Mandvi was game: "I went to an audition once where they asked me if I would bring my own snake. They wanted me to be a snake charmer, and they wanted me to bring my own turban and my own snake, if I had it. I said, 'I don’t wear a turban.' And they said, you know, 'Would you bring one?' And I said, 'If you wear a turban, you don’t generally leave home without it. So since I don’t wear one, I don’t really own one.' [Pause.] I did have a snake, so that was fine. I just brought my snake." For more celebrities talking casting, click through our Party Lines slideshow.
