SAG Wins Wage Increase After Negotiations

The Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists have reached a tentative agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers for a new three-year contract that strengthens the SAG and AFTRA retirement and pension plans and increases wages by two percent per year. The agreement comes after six weeks of negotiations. "We are pleased," said an AMPTP rep. The important thing: There probably won't be a long-discussed actors' strike. [News Briefs/EW, Deadline]
