Twenty-seven-year-old Reeve Carney secured the part of Peter Parker in Julie Taymor’s again-delayed, wrist-breaking, $60 million musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark over a year and a half ago. But such are the demands of the job — being catapulted around the theater night after night — that Carney will likely have a sub for two performances a week.
