While doing the press junket for her Gwyneth Paltrow sing-along Country Strong, Leighton Meester told E! that though she “obviously enjoys working on the show and living in New York,” she’ll only be doing Gossip Girl for “two more years.” Why two? “Because we’re under contract” until then. In two years, the CW may throw a bunch of money Meester’s way to stay put, or continue the show without her (though that would be a bad idea!), so it’s not even remotely a done deal … and yet it somehow doesn’t feel too soon to be bummed out about the possibility.
