Now that Miramax's sale to people other than the Weinsteins is finally done, Miramax is making a deal with ... the Weinstein Company! The two companies have just announced an agreement to "create sequels to some of Miramax’s best-known properties" (properties made when the Weinsteins were still running Miramax). You know what this means? Rounders 2! Bad Santa: Sexual Santa Clause ! And Shakespeare in Love-ier! No, really, give or take a title, that is what it means. The two companies intend to get started on this joint venture by making sequels or TV spinoffs of Rounders, Bad Santa, and Shakespeare in Love. They will then potentially move on to Bridget Jones’s Diary, Copland, From Dusk Till Dawn, Swingers, Clerks, Shall We Dance, and The Amityville Horror. We are getting a good chuckle imagining the plot of Shakespeare in Love 2: The genius Shakespeare falls in love with a boy who is really a girl ... again! This time around, instead of being inspired to write Twelfth Night, he wrote Macbeth! [Deadline]
